March Investigation

This month has been really busy from the contrast of coming home from Florida to 4-H meetings. I had good days and bad days, all in all this month went really fast.

The beginning of March I was still in Florida. I already did a post on everything that happened in Florida so I wont talk about it to much.
Went to Key West that was cool. The sand is white-er there.

Flew home/ got a window seat. The airport experience was very cool. Great book writing reference.

 Lovely flowers.

We came home to no water, so that was crazy. Got to talk to my grandma, who lives down the road, bout the trip; that was nice. She is the best grandmother! We also had to take showers at here house. Thankfully it was only four days without water. Dad got it fixed quickly.
It was snowy when we first got home; it was very snowy. I didn't get a picture. I don't know why.

All the snow has all melted now and it is fairly nice. Yes it feels like spring! It is flooding in some areas because the snow has melted so fast. It has been 50 degrees some days. The mud is not fun, yet thanks to the ever helpful wind the mud will be gone soon. I don't know why, but summer is coming so fast, all of a sudden, and I am not ready for that. Okay I am, but not, because I have a Million things to DO.
My sweet Nola playing with a pine cone.

Some of the things I have been doing is sewing, school, knitting, cleaning, going to 4-H meetings. Course feeding horses. And riding bare back a little.

Some of this month has been good and some of it a little stressful. Yes, why stressful? Cuz my sewing has been slow and I want to get that done before the end of May and I feel like that will not happen.
I so want to get out of school too. I hope to get my math done in the middle of April.

I have gotten some writing done, probably not as much as I should. Also did not finish any books... I am reading one.
I have started back up, editing my third book. For some reason editing the first draft calms my nerves. I thing it is because I like doing that better than some other things I NEED to do. Yeah I know I am crazy. I do need to edit too, it just dose not have due date.
4-H has been on my mind a lot, I need to get some things done, for 4-H. Like write a speech and sew and knit and ride.

I should mention: I ordered some poetry books. Next Sunday (if I am ready) I will be doing a giveaway. I might have the books by then, but it could be two weeks before they get to me.
                                                                      ↠↠
I am a fan of NASA stuff now.
I made my first order on my own. Yeah I was scared. I got a laptop that is small so I can take writing/ editing and blogging with me.
Ant Man is my favorite superhero. I know that was random. It is true, and for some reason I have a mission on my mind to make my own ANT MAN suit. So we will see how that goes. See I do things like this to get rid of stress. Okay maybe the real reason is, you see my brother is making an Iron Man suit out of cardboard. I think it is cool and I want to make my own superman suit.
                                                                🔍🔍🔍🔍🔍
Yes crazy me is putting more on my plate. I hope this wasn't too much of a rant. It has been an interesting month. Do I say more?
Keep being a detective you all! Blessings!
                                                                   ↠↠↠
Also on the first of April google+ is closing please make sure you continue to follow me. Not sure how everything is going happen with it closing but I would appreciate it if you stayed following. THANKS!

What have you been up to?
How was your month?
Tell me below! I do want to know how your month was.

New Books I Want To Read

There are some new books that just came out or are coming out that I want to read. I normally don't read new books until they are a few years old. But hopefully I will get to read some of these before they are a year old. LOL.

The Boy Who Steals Houses by C.G. Drews

40170373

I already have this one pre-ordered so I know I will get to read this book. I just love the cover! I have wanted to read more blogger's books and this one looks so good! I will be doing a review when I finish reading it. This is a contemporary, that's what I read.

Another Kingdom By Andrew Klavan

38724307

Andrew Klavan is one of my favorite authors. I am always waiting for a new book of his to come out. So yes I can't wait to read this one. I have not got it yet, soon though, soon. This one is a sic-fi book, full of mystery stuff and action. I love all the action in Andrew's book. I am jumping up and down....

Within These Lines by Stephanie Morrill

40556592

I have been withing for this book to come out for a while. I always thought it sounded cool. I even suggested a part idea to the author. I wonder if it got in the book. Anyway I hope I get to read it. If you don't know already this is a historical romance. I think there is some mystery in it too.

Live Without You by Sarah Grace Grzy

43628921

I love the cover of this one. I keep hearing good things about it and I really want to read it! I know it has been out for a few months. I was tempted to join in on the book tour but I didn't end up doing it. I am excited to read it! This is a contemporary romance.

The Strange Case of Willoughby Spalding by Megan Wilcox

44300065

This was published not too long ago. I follow Meg's blog and enjoy reading her posts. This is a short story, a mystery, and I love mysteries. I am excited to read it when I buy it. Hopefully that is not to far in the future.  It also has a cool cover!

Murder in the City of Liberty by Rachel McMillan

Murder in the City of Liberty - By: Rachel McMillan

Okay this one is the second in the series and I haven't read the first one. I want to read both of them. This one will be out sometime soon... not sure when. I hope I get to read this cool looking mystery. I am going to be full of mystery if I ever end up reading all the mystery books I want to read. This one is historical mystery around the time before World War 2 starts.

All these books have super cool covers which make them a treasure. I hope they are all awesome reads as well.

Mayhem at Dusk (Part 3)

Hi, ya everything is Jake. (You should know I have been looking up 30's slang.)  Today we are on to the third part of the story, with Lane's POV.
Like the other stories I took the blog battle word this month: Dusk.

If you missed out on the other two parts of the short stories. Or forgot or want a refresh.

Part 1 Flowers Have Mysteries
Part 2 Loss and Madness

Mayhem at Dusk

Lane

By Rakyle Hier "Word count 1065"

Dusk was approaching like a cat ready to pounce. It spread over the buildings in a yellow glow. They sky blossomed with red spreading like wine spilt from a glass.

I have no good idea how long Detective Heinz and I sat at that tea shop. Him thinking and me… well… trying to help? I was his assistant.
Carmouthe said I would be a good assistant to Heinz. I wasn’t so sure.

I thought maybe if I become an assistant to a detective I would get in on some action.
At the moment all I was doing is drinking too much tea. Real smart Lane.
I voiced my only thought to Heinz, “Why don’t you take this threat to the police?”

Heinz looked up from the ground. He looked at he at me as if saying, why would I want to do that? I was beginning to get the idea he wasn’t fond of the coppers. His moustache drooped. “For the last time Lane, I am not going to entangle the police in this. What did you say… ‘It’s not even a case yet.”

Misery, me!
“When did they ever do anything right?” He continued, throwing his hands up.

I tried to think of something to prove him wrong, but all I did was sputter, “um...they… um.”

Heinz tipped his hat at me in agreement. He rose from his seat, “I am not getting anything done sitting here. I’m off.” I rose after him.
“You can’t go alone. What if Wilson jumps you?”

“I’m not too worried, Lane, I have dealt with this kind of thing before.”

“Heinz, be reasonable!” my voice got louder. The detective rubbed his chin. “Lane if you're so worried come with me. I am only off to my apartment.”
I wasn’t going to let him out of my sight. I was his assistant, why not assist him. I hurried after him as he started walking away.

“You’re really coming?” He looked at me.

“Yes.”

He sighed. “Alright.”

We arrived at his apartment. I was beginning to see a pattern in a lot of things Heinz did, he never did anything in a pattern, which made things more annoying. His room was on the second floor, number 33.

Oh… how strange, now I understood. But I would never understand, Heinz. He unlocked the door and invited me inside. “There is something I want you to see,” he said with a twinkle in his eye. I stepped in the room to see the same unorganized mess he had in his office. His brown couch was covered with white paper, stacked in squares. The coffee table had cups and plates scattered on top. The walls had odd paintings hung up every few spaces.
It was like a puzzle of its own. I turned to see Heinz over by a table that was covered in glass containers and lots of books.

“Come here, Lane.” The detective motioned me over. On my way over to him, I tripped over a pair of boots. Not like 1930’s boots at all, more like 20 years older. Heinz showed me a glass, a tear shaped container that had purple colored liquid inside. The dusk’s soft light shone on the jar, making it look eerie. I noticed Heinz hadn’t turned on the light.

“This is something that I have been working on for some time,” Heinz explained, when I didn’t say anything. I stared at the jar.  “Oh, I see.”
But I didn’t see. “It’s a mixture that will eat through wood,” he went on. My jaw dropped open. I slowly shut it and asked, “Then why doesn't it eat through the glass?”

“It’s a different type of substance,” Heinz said casually.
Oh, of course it is.
He set the jar down and started rifling through his books on the table.
“Um, Heinz, don’t you think you should turn on the lights?”

Heinz twitched his nose. “Oh, right... the lights don’t work, I fried the circuit yesterday. You could grab that lamp over there.” He pointed to the fireplace between the two windows that looked down to the cobblestone street.
I walked over and grabbed the oil lamp. “Matches?”

“In the bedroom on the nightstand,” Heinz said, not looking up from the books. Why not just keep them next to the lamp? I hurried into the room that the detective had pointed out and found the box of matches.
I struck a match on the bottom of my shoe and lit the lamp. It filled the room with sticky yellow light.

I went back into the main room to find Heinz gone. I looked around his apartment and I saw a shut door I went over and opened it. Big mistake.
A pile of clothing, boxes, wires, and something hairy flowed out and knocked me down. I was half burred.

“Heinz!” I cursed under my breath. I climbed out of the mess and was relieved to see the lamp did not break and was still lit. I set the the lamp on the table and looked at the mess in disgust. The apartment door open and Heinz walked in. He looked at the mess, “I see you found my closet.”

“Yeah, I seem to have found it. Where did you go?”

Heinz showed me a paper. “I got a message.” He came closer and read it in the lamp’s light. Meet me at dusk tomorrow. -HW”

“Who’s H.W?” I asked. Heinz gave me a strange look and it came to me.
It was from Hank Wilson. “You’re not going to meet him are you?”
He shrugged. “It would be rude to refuse.”

Yes, yes so rude. “Heinz you can’t be serious. You got some proof now, right? You can take this to the police?”

“Ah, Lane, of course not. I’ve just started.”

Oh, swell. I looked out the window to see that the sun was gone and darkness was closing in. From dusk to darkness, from mayhem to danger.
I knew Heinz would get into danger to catch the crook, that was just his reputation. I knew Carmouthe would want an update on what was going on, but I think I should keep an eye on Heinz. I wasn’t going to let him meet Hank Wilson alone, nor was I going to let him stay here alone.

Obviously, this lunatic knew where the detective lived.

🔎🔎🔎

I really enjoyed writing this story! It went over a thousand words just a little, but I couldn't help it I was having fun with descriptions. Also above when I said Jake, in thirties slang that means perfect.

I'm Back From My Trip!

Hi everyone, I am back from Florida. I had a ton of fun and have so much to talk about. I might get it all in this post or I might do another post. We will see.

So I left on the 20th of February and drove to Denver to get on an airliner. It was a long 9 hour drive. We got there around 10 PM and had to wait till 12 PM to get on the plane. We flew Frontier on an airbus. My younger sister and little brother got to have window seats. The flight to Orlando, Florida took 3 hours. It was ruff, try sleeping in an airplane some time.

We got to Florida at 6 AM Florida time; we landed just as the sun was rising. It was cool!

We rented a car and went on our way to a friends house in Cocoa Beach. It was lovely there. A little cool, but that was alright I had long sleeves on. We crashed once we got to the house. I was really tied.

We stayed in Cocoa Beach a few days, while there we went to the Kennedy Space Center. That was a lot of FUN! I had such a good time! I have a lot of pictures to share of our adventure.

It rained a little when we first arrived.
Control room for most of the rockets in the 60s.
This is where the astronauts sat in the early rockets.

We went to almost everything we could. On the bus tour we saw and alligator.

This building is where SpaceX builds their rockets that they send up in space.

This is a rocket platform. The white tower is where water flows out when the flames shoot out of a rocket to cool down everything.

Atlantis

I leaned so much about space stuff!
That night was going to be a rocket launch. The clock is counting down.
We went to our friends house and watched the rocket launch. It was awesome, but hard to get a good picture.

The next day we got to go kayaking, that was super cool! We went on the Banana River I rode with my sister. It was a two seat kayak.

We took turns paddling. It was more work than I thought it would be LOL.

We went through small branch caves. That was like, fun! I got to pull the kayak along because it was hard to paddle in the small spaces.

Such a pretty place!
After three days being in Cocoa we went down to Pompano Beach where we had a beach house rented.
We went to the beach almost every day!
I took a lot of selfies.

Lovely light house!

Waiting for the bridge to come up and let a big boat through.

Went shopping at Walmart / was sunburned.

Went to a nice park that was in the middle of Fort Lauderdale, FL. It was so fun!

Had a rainy evening. So I went out side and got wet. Not too wet I had a rain jacket on. Which I love.

Went down to the Key West beach. It was hot there. I didn't go swimming.
See my siblings faces. There was a lot of grubby moss to step in.

Last night in Florida. We stayed at our friend's house again and saw a lovely sun set.

On the way home I got to sit by the window. This time we got on at 5 PM it was delayed, but a much better flight than the night flight to Florida. We got to Denver around 10 at night.
Got home on the 6th of March. I know this might seem late and I had a post on the 10th. That was because I had that post schedule and it gave me time to get things together.

Also I will now be posting on Thursdays again. I have a announcement, you will all be excited about this Thursday so be there.

This might be a little long sorry, I wanted to share it all.

Spy Movies

Spy movies are like awesome movies! I haven't seen any James Bond movies or any thing like that so that is not what I will be taking about today. Stick around if you want some more spy movies to watch that are fun and have no bad things in them.

I have listed some of the spy movies I really like. I may list more in the future. They are full of gadgets and all things spy.

Who is Simon Miller?

Image result for Who is simon miller

This  spy movie is really good and super family friendly!! I just watched this one not long ago. It was very thrilling but my family and me picked out the bad guy pretty fast. So worth the watch I am sure we will see it over and over again.
His family thought they knew who he was. He had to travel all over for his job. He was always getting calls. Something goes wrong and Simon goes missing. Soon his family is looking for answers and they find the truth about Simon Miller. What do they do now? Where do the go next? Can they track down the spy before the other spies do?

The Spy Next Door

Image result for spy next door

This one is a hit as well. Jackie Chan is a great actor! There are a lot of cool fight senses and cool gadgets. What is a spy without his gadgets? This is a funny enjoyable movie.
Bob Ho is a spy but he wants a slower life. He wants to get married. There is a problem, the kids hate him. He is a normal boring guy or so they think. When there mother has to leave to take care of her dad. Bob is up to watch the kids. The kids are out to get him. Can he out smart them? More trouble follows him, the Russians are after a file. Bob has it... or he did.

Alex Rider: Operation Stormbreaker
Image result for alex rider movie

Fast pace, James Bond type say "yes please!" I have read the books and when I found out about the movie I bought it. I really like the movie it is of course not the same as the book, it dose the book Justice and kinda makes the story better.
Alex Rider is just a normal kid who knows marshal arts, rock climbing, skiing, and more, or he thinks he is normal. Alex's uncle is a spy for IM6. Alex never knew and now he is dead. Now IM6 wants him to work for them. He doesn't want to be a spy, but IM6 always gets what they want. So he is off on a mission. Can he stop the bad guy? There is only one way to find out!

Cars 2

Image result for Cars 2

Come on don't you love cars? Yes the second one is not as good as the first, but I still love it! WHY NOT? There are spies, secret agent cars and bad guys. Some mystery. Super fun!
Lighting McQueen takes the challenge to race in the world race. Mater is mistaken for a American agent and he doesn't know what is going on. Mater goes along with Holly and Finn who are trying to find the guy who is out to get the racers. Can Mater save McQueen and stop the villain car?

MacGyver (1985)

Image result for macgyver 1985

This is a great movie full of action and adventure. MacGyver always has a trick up his sleeve. I have only seen the first season on DVD. I want to watch more. He is a spy of sorts and is always on a new mission. What would the movie be about other wise? I really like to take note of some of his ideas. Some of them I have tried and didn't work like it did in the movie (what do you expect?) Some of them would never work... yes yes I didn't try all his ideas. ( if you have seen any of the movies you know what i am talking about. If you have not. GO SEE IT)
I'm not going to explain every episode... sorry. But there are gun fights, bombs, danger, all the things a action show needs.

🜹🜹🜹🜹🜹🜹🜹🜹🜹🜹🜹🜹🜹🜹
More movies  I like.

What spy movies do you like?
Have you seen any of these?
Tell me bellow....

It's Almost August

How is more than half the year gone by? I've been enjoying the summer. I love summer.  It's been a very rainy year which is so grea...
